Sets from your bodybuilding workout? A much better idea is to start with a really low number of sets and focus on getting more reps on your Platinum XT 1000 sets and adding weights to your exercises on a regular basis. This isn't just for beginners. If you've been working out for awhile and not making the muscle building progress you want, you'll benefit from cutting back on the training volume as well. For starters, eliminate all the little single joint movements like chest flyes, dumbbell laterals, concentration curls, etc. Stick with the big compound movements like squats, deadlifts, dips, pull ups and dumbbell upright rows. In fact, you'll make some serious muscle mass gains just by using those five exercises. Yes, I know there aren't any arm exercises in that group or other single joint exercises like leg curls, leg extensions, etc. That's okay. We're trying to build muscle mass, right? You don't need those exercises to build muscle.
