Lessons From the Life of Abraham

God's promise to Abram in Genesis 12:1-9 , Dream Life Mastery Review gave Abram direction and purpose. The Apostle Peter says in 2 Peter 1:19 that a word or a prophecy from God is as a lamp for lighting, a way through the dark until the dawn comes and the morning star rises. Therefore, we can say that if we lack a word from God, a heavenly prophecy over our lives, we will lack vision and it will feel like we are groping around in the dark. King Solomon tells us in Proverbs 29:18 that where there is no vision, the people perish.

God's word to Abram was within God's timeframe and not according to Abram's. We live in weeks, months, and years. We generally say that people who passed away after 80 or 90 years had a full or long life. However, according to the Psalmist (Psalm 90:4) and the Apostle Peter (2 Peter 3:8), God works in 1000-year cycles. God's viewpoint stretches over millennia, or ages as St. Paul refers to God's epochs in Ephesians 2:7, 3:5 and 3:21.
